WOOJUNG SCHOLARSHIP

APPLICATION FOR WOOJUNG EDUCATION AND CULTURE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR FIRST SEMESTER 2023

The Embassy of Ghana in Seoul wishes to inform the Ghanaian Community that the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation is offering financial assistance to Ghanaian students enrolled in regular courses, including master’s and doctoral programs, at universities in the Republic of Korea during the first semester of the 2023 academic year.

Please note the following foundation requirements:

  • A foreign student in Korea seeking financial assistance for tuition and living expenses. The student must be an undergraduate or graduate student at a university.
  • The student must not exceed the following scholarship requirements: (i.e. kindly note that the reference should be the commencement date of school).
    • Undergraduate students in 4-year university – First 8 semesters (First 4 years)
    • Master’s degree students – First 4 semesters (First 2 years)
    • PhD degree students – First 6 semesters (First 3 years)
    • Joint Master’s and PhD degree students – First 8 semesters (First 4 years)
  • Note: Woojung is unable to offer scholarships beyond the noted terms
  • The student’s academic records must have at least 80 points (equivalent to a grade of 8). However, the student may still be evaluated if they are having financial challenges. The student must have completed at least one semester as a full-time student at a four-year Korean institution (in order to determine academic potential).
  • The student must have good manners.
  • The student must not be a recipient of a government scholarship; therefore, preference will be given to students who get no award whatsoever when selecting Woojung scholarship candidates.

The following documentation requirements must be submitted to the Embassy in person or by mail no later than January 25, 2023, by qualified applicants.

  • Application Form,
  • Admission Certificate,
  • Certificate of Enrolment,
  • Official Academic Record,
  • Letter of Recommendation from a Dean or Professor,
  • Objective Statement -Study Plan,
  • Copy of the bank account and
  • A cover letter addressed to the Head of Mission.

The Woojung Education and Culture Foundation was established by Booyoung Group, one of the leading construction companies in South Korea, with the aim of provide financial assistance to meritorious international students currently enrolled in Korea.
