The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Seoul wishes to inform all Ghanaians living in The Republic of Korea that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana has announced the roll-out of the new chip-embedded passport with effect from Monday, 28th April 2025.

3. As part of the new system:
A. All passport printing will now be centralized at the Passport Head Office in Accra. The Embassy will, however, continue to process applications and capture biometric data. Completed applications will be transmitted to the Passport Head Office for processing and subsequent dispatch of printed passports to applicants through the established channels.
B. All payments for passport services will now be processed through a centralized online platform. Consequently, the Embassy will no longer receive or handle payments for passport services. Applicants will be required to make payments directly on the platform as part of the online application process.
C. With respect to pending or incomplete applications on the old Passport application system, the following must be noted:
- Applicants with incomplete applications are to visit the new portal at passport.mfa.gov.gh and follow the prompt on the platform to complete their application.
- Applicants who started the application under the old system are to complete all such pending applications within 90 days, ending 27th July 2025.
- Applicants whose appointments have already been booked on the old system should proceed to the Embassy for their biometric data to be captured on the appointed day, and
- Applicants who missed their appointments on 28th and 29th April 2025 are advised to visit the Embassy for further processing of their applications.
